Bridal Bouquet Designs
When it comes to choosing your bridal bouquet it is important to realise that when you start looking through the millions of images available across the internet, to NOT look for your perfect one! Not only will you find it very daunting and stressful, but more importantly here at Wedding Flowers and Styling we design and create your bouquet individually for you.
We always suggest take little bits of what you love from different images then leave the rest to us.
Let me explain further...
A full cascading shower is a timeless classic design. The style is large and generally oversized having a long cascading detail appropriate to your height. Looks great when created very loose having a “grown on look” and equally as pretty and elegant with a varied head placement to create a natural look. This design looks perfect with a full bridal gown.
A Teardrop Bouquet is designed very similar to the full cascading shower but slightly smaller in presentation. The cascading detail is replaced with a more slender tapered point and sized appropriately to suit your body frame. Can look beautiful created naturally with florals and foliage or more dense with your floral selection choices. A very versatile design that emphasises your body shape and bridal gown creating an elegant flowing design.
During your consultations we work we you to ascertain your favourite flowers and if you have a flower with meaning that you would like us to include. It’s important that your flowers and foliage is an extension of your personality.
In principle a handtie posy is a circular design creating an almost rounded shape. The stems that you hold is bound in either lace, satin, hessian or string. The design can be created by using either a small floral selection in volume or can be very effective with a larger floral selection. To opt for a larger selection creates a more handpicked look when teamed with foliages throughout the design.
Also don’t worry if you don’t really want to use any foliage within your bouquet, a handtie posy looks pretty with florals only.
It's always a lovely idea, when you add something that is sentimental to you or your spouse to your bridal bouquet.
Adding a Charm, locket or family heirloom is a special way to include loved ones who may not be here with you on your wedding day.
There are many flowers that have different colour varieties.
Let us reduce any stress and show us your images and colour schemes and we can coordinate with our Dutch flower supplies to source all of your favourites.
On your design meetings we will understand your preferences of any colour ratios and also the balance between floral and foliage.
The design is very similar to a handtied posy but oversized creating a boho bouquet. The floral and foliage quantities are increased and forms a more loose and natural presentation. It has a very hand picked looks and is very effective using garden like florals and masses of foliages with different textures.
The most effective full domed posy’s are created with large headed roses or using florals with similar sized blooms. Foliage can be added to the underside of the bouquet if that is your preference or still just a focal with no foliage as all.
White fresh gypsophila shaped into a ball shape creates a lovely gypsophila posy. It has a very tidy presentation and is made to compliment the size of your body frame. In addition of this bouquet being a bridal posy it is very popular with bridesmaids. Made slightly smaller than the brides it looks very effective in your photos.
To add a touch of extra floral to the gypsophila posy or to opt for your bridal bouquet to be a more elaborate version of the maids we suggest add large headed roses within. This creates a more elaborate bridal bouquet otherwise known as a compact posy.
We take your favourite flower or a small selection of your favourites and display them as a layered bouquet. An informal presentation and generally carried either across the body resting on your arm or casually carried to the side of you.
If you are wanting to have an “everlasting” bouquet we can create and design using artificial flowers and foliages. They are very realistic, also popular with dried details which we can also include. In some instances where you require a colour that is almost impossible to source in fresh florals we are able to source the floral in artificial.
Being an experienced florist gives you such versatility and options.
